WLAN
Abbreviation for wireless local area network
In short and in plain language
WLAN is a local network without cables. Devices use it to go online by radio.
At home or in the office, this link is often fast. On the move, a mobile network is often slower.
So a website may feel smooth there. On the move, it may load a lot more slowly.
Definition
WLAN refers to a wireless local area network through which devices connect to the internet by radio. At home or in the office the connection is often faster than on a mobile network. A website may therefore feel smooth over WLAN but load noticeably more slowly on the move.
