SOA
Abbreviation for Start of Authority
In short and in plain language
SOA is a record with the basic details of a domain.
It names the server in charge of names. It also holds a contact address and times for caching.
When a domain moves, these values count. They can affect how fast changes show up everywhere.
Definition
SOA refers to a DNS record that holds basic information about a domain zone. This includes the responsible name server, a contact address and time values for caching. When a domain is moved, these values can influence how quickly changes become visible everywhere.
