cutout
In short and in plain language
A cutout is a photo of an item with no busy background.
The item usually stands in front of white or light grey. Shops often use such a photo as the main picture.
The background is set up when you take the photo. Or it is removed later on the computer.
Definition
A cutout is a product photo showing the item without a distracting background, usually against white or light grey. Such images are often used as the main image in online shops and product feeds. The background is created during the shoot or removed in image editing.
